How to split screen into multiple zones

To divide your screen into multiple zones, where, for example, the main zone would play videos in a loop (a nested playlist) and the footer zone will show the current time & news at the bottom, follow the below steps:

Multi-zone layout created with Scene Editor example
  1. Create a playlist with all the content you want to play in a loop.
  2. Then click on Create Scene button at the top right corner in the Scenes section. Choose a name for the scene and your desired aspect ratio.
  3. To add playlist you created in the 1. Step into the scene, select the Playlists button and then click on + next to it.

4. To adjust Playlists position hover over it, press on Drag and Drop button and drag the item to the desired spot.

6. Click on Save to save changes and then click on x to exit scene editor.

7. Click on the Save&Publish button to both save the progress and also select screens where the scene should be published to.

8. Go to the Screens dashboard, find the screen(s) where you have published the scene and click on the Preview (eye icon) and check the result.

Tips & tricks

  1. Do not play multiple videos simultaneously without testing if your device can handle it. Cheaper devices, in particular, might have performance issues playing more than one video at a time. Also, note that the video may be "choppy."
  2. Similar effect can be achieved by using playlist's layout. You can learn more about it here.
